Spring Cleaning Tips

Spring Cleaning Tips

With spring stretching into summer, you still have time to give your home a good cleaning. Focusing on eliminating most of the clutter that has accumulated throughout the year, you systematically go room by room to reveal its contents. You then clean the areas that you usually ignore, such as closets, pantries, the basement, and garage until everything looks and feels exceptionally clean and spacious.

Items such as rugs, drapes, and furniture that are typically spot-cleaned get extra attention. They’re washed, dried, steamed, and deodorized to help them look and feel new once again. You extend spring cleaning efforts outdoors where you wash the exterior of windows and siding to remove dirt and grime as well as to increase the curb appeal of the residence.

A Deep Clean is Very Satisfying to Experience

There is a great reward that comes with deep cleaning your home. It feels more expansive, newer, and more beautiful than it did before. Getting rid of dust, power cleaning carpets, and rearranging furniture can have a significant effect on your mood.

If you want to try your hand at spring cleaning, but you’re not sure where to start, try these tips on for size. They’ll help your roost look its very best in no time!

Decide Which Areas of Your Home Need Immediate Attention

Focus on the rooms and outdoor spaces that require work now. Clean them from top to bottom before moving onto another area.

Start Separating Items into Piles to Keep, Sell or Donate

Determine which items will stay in the home, which you will sell, and which are better off as donations to a local charitable organization. Make arrangements for a local thrift store to pick up the items that you no longer need yourself.

Clean Items as You Put Them Away

Rather than hide the dust, give everything a good wipe down before placing them on shelves and in cabinets. You’ll have less to clean the next time you approach the area.

Make Containers and Baskets Your Best Friend

Not only do they make great decorations, but they also hide away items that you don’t need to use daily. You can stow things such as extra blankets and magazines away until you want to take them out again.

There is something very liberating about decluttering the home. Once you realize how many things have accumulated throughout the residence, you can control the clutter by determining what is necessary and what isn’t. You can then donate, sell, or recycle items to make more space in your house.

Feather Your Nest By Devoting Time to Spring Cleaning It

One of the easiest ways to spruce up your home is by deep cleaning it. Doing all of the things that you didn’t do in the past allows you to clear the clutter and make each room shine. Rather than tolerate the mail and clothing that has piled up inside the home, you deliberately choose to take care of it today. By the time you finish spring cleaning, you feel as though you’ve stepped inside of a new home because of how good it feels.
